PIMA Management Division Volunteer Opportunities

PaperCon Steering Committee - Vice Chair

The PaperCon Steering Committee is where all division tracks report ensuring content/speakers are lined up to fill their tracks. This committee also sets event goals, like attendance goals and number of exhibitors, etc.  It’s a good opportunity for an experienced YP who is looking for leadership experience and/or a broad exposure to many industry professionals.

Workforce Development Committee

The Workforce Development Committee is looking for volunteers to support its mission of fostering a broader understanding of the workforce development issues facing the North American Pulp & Paper Industry.  These issues include employee selection, onboarding, training, retention, and leadership development.  The committee works together communicating the scope of the various issues, acting as a forum to discuss strategies, identifying resources/experiences to share with other TAPPI members, and providing content through a variety of channels (chiefly the Workforce Development session at TAPPICon).  Additionally, we act as a clearinghouse for sharing practical approaches to address each of these issues.  Anyone interested in contributing to our mission and being a part of the conversation is welcome to join.

Membership Committee

This committee works to engage with members of mill and supplier companies for engagement with PIMA’s committees and content development. Volunteers in this committee will meet quarterly to strategize outreach and engagement plans that will help grow the PIMA Division.

Awards Committee

This committee is looking for volunteers to help raise the awareness of PIMA’s awards with outreach to mills and suppliers, as well as other TAPPI committees and workgroups for nominations. This committee meets quarterly and will also review and make revisions to the existing awards program for PIMA.

Program Committee

This committee, which meets monthly, is seeking volunteers for the development of content for TAPPICon, webinars, and other events or activities.

The PIMA IT Committee

This committee, which meets monthly, is looking for volunteers and is actively recruiting presenters for webinars, developing special interest groups, and other activities that promote innovation and technology in the industry.
